Over the past six months I have been experimenting with digital photography in many different ways, focusing on the editing and printing stages.
Among other things, I examined how and why we use various photography formats, how we cognitively perceive images, and how we use photography to remember, to desire, to aspire, to focus, and to create fiction.
These two first collections to come out of these experiments could not be more different than each other, but come from exactly the same place.
Over the past decade, I've taken tens of thousands of pictures, but the function of the photos was, generally, not for posterity, but to be in the moment.
Whether I notice a skyscraper, a sign, a solitary flower, or a sailboat, I try to stop and appreciate the details, if just for a few seconds.
I hope you enjoy.
